I completed my Masters program in Counseling Psychology in 2014 at Capella University. I completed my Post-Masters program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University in March of 2020. I am dually licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). In Maryland, I hold provisional licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). As a Clinical Supervisor-Intern (CSI), I provide clinical supervision for LCAS-A's and CSAC's in North Carolina. I hold certifications as a Reiki Master, a Transformational Life Coach, and as a Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual. I am currently completing a 200hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification. In addition, I am an EMDR trained therapist. I have been working in the mental health and substance use fields since 2010 as both direct support and counseling staff at various locations. Over the years, I have worked with all age groups at inpatient, residential and outpatient programs. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to: life transitions, caregiver burnout, stress, anxiety, depression, substance use, eating and personality disorders, and relationship issues. I integrate a variety of treatment modalities into my practice, and my approach is client specific, however, I primarily utilize the following: EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and ACT. I value having an authentic therapeutic relationship with my clients and encourage their self-agency to elicit feedback regarding the therapeutic process to ensure that their needs are being fulfilled.
I receive supervision from Keisha Blount, MA, LCAS, CCS in North Carolina for my CSI credential.
